microcurrent is an amazing and results driven effective treatment for the face and body. a microcurrent device is an electrical neuromuscular stimulator, or MENS, and is used to send weak electrical signals to the body. these types of devices apply extremely small (less than 1 microampere) electrical currents to nerves using electrodes or other methods applied to the face and body. it is literally the non-surgical face-lift
this low level of electricity actually mirrors the body's own natural electrical currents, which in turn triggers chemical reactions at a cellular level. what this does is enhances the production of natural collagen and elastin, provides circulatory benefits and re-educates the muscles of the face. there are thirty two different muscles of the face that are manipulated during a microcurrent facial treatment. microcurrent lifts, smooths, tightens, and tones. we use microcurrent probes to physically move and manipulate the muscles into the desired position to perform muscle re-education (this is the process that can lengthen or shorten the facial muscles). we now, with regular treatments, have the control to retrain the muscles to maintain this new contour and position we have re-educated them to. microcurrent allows the muscles the necessary energy to keep their tension in this new contour!
the benefits of microcurrent go on and on but here are just a few:
- completely healed or reduced acne
- treats sun damage
- lessens, and in some cases rids of, fine lines and wrinkles
- improves circulation
- hydrates and revitalizes the skin
- improved skin texture
- improves elasticity and creping skin
- improves muscle tone in the face and neck
- smoother and firmer skin
- influences lymphatic drainage, lifts the brows, lifts the jowls to enhance the jaw bone
-improves and evens over all skin tone
- EXCELLENT FOR ANYONE WHO IS POST SURGERY OF FACELIFTING AND HELPS MAINTAIN THE LIFT. ALSO TREATS BLOOD STASIS, SCARRING, NUMBNESS AND MORE
since we are using microcurrent to re-train the facial muscles tissues, it is critical that you receive these treatments in a series as to reach the maximum potential. the number of sessions in your series does vary from person to person and is case by case. that being said, here is a vague list of typical series treatments
20-30 years: this is called the preventative stage. it is used to slow down the aging process. it is recommended to have a microcurrent treatment every 2 to 4 weeks
30-35 years: initially your series should start with 6 to 8 treatments, once a week, and then be maintained every 4 weeks
35-40 years: this should be an initial series of 8 to 10 treatments done twice a week and should then be maintained every 4 weeks
40 to 50 years: a series of 10 to 12 treatments twice per week with maintenance treatments every 4 weeks
50 to 60 years: initial series of 12-15 treatments twice per week and maintained every 4 weeks
60 and above: a treatment series of 18 treatments twice per week and also maintained every 4 weeks
You are not a candidate for microcurrent if you...
- have a pacemaker
- are pregnant
- have cancer/are going through cancer treatments
- have thrombosis
- have epilepsy
- have phlebitis
*anyone having botox or any type of filler enhancements may have a microcurrent treatment, however, it is recommended to wait a MINIMUM of two weeks after the fillers have been done to receive a microcurrent facial. microcurrent actually can lessen the need/frequency for botox and other fillers.
